The Kronenstübli is the gourmet restaurant of the Grand Hotel Kronenhof in Pontresina, set in a parlour panelled in Swiss stone pine. Head chef Fabrizio Piantanida cooks with regional ingredients, moving between Italian-Mediterranean and French cuisine. Its signature is the canard à la presse, a Rouen duck from the silver duck press, served in two courses for two or more. Gault&Millau rates the Stübli at 16 points, and there is an extensive wine list from the hotel’s historic cellar.
