Munt da la Bês-cha (Unterer Schafberg)
Mountain hut
At 2,231 m, the hut on the Lower Schafberg sits right on the high-level trail between Muottas Muragl and Alp Languard, halfway to the Segantini Hut. Since 2024 Claudia and Reto Pollini have run this long-established house, whose history goes back to 1907. On the sun terrace you get hearty fare such as homemade barley soup and the Schafberg platter that you slice yourself, plus fresh cakes every day – for instance the rhubarb cake made to an old family recipe. The hut can only be reached on foot, most easily in about an hour from the top station at Alp Languard or Muottas Muragl; it stays closed on rainy days.
Only reachable by lift, train or on foot – the car stays at the starting point. Reservations: not needed; call ahead in doubtful weather, groups of 10+ book ahead.
