The Albula Hospiz has stood at the top of the pass (2,315 m) since 1871 and was carefully renovated in 2021/22. Inside there is a stone pine parlour and a tiled stove; outside a large terrace looks down the Albula valley and towards the Engadine. The menu features Graubünden barley soup, homemade Pizokel (small dumplings) and cakes from the display case – ideal for a stop while driving or cycling over the pass. It is open in summer only, and the Bus Alpin stops right outside.
About 16 minutes by car from Chesa Michel. Reservations: not needed by day; evenings by reservation only, 4+ people.
