High above Samedan at 2,456 m, the panoramic restaurant of the Romantik Hotel Muottas Muragl can only be reached by funicular from Punt Muragl – it has been running since 1907 and operates until 11 pm in season. From the terrace and the dining room the view stretches far across the Upper Engadine lakes. The kitchen combines regional, seasonal produce with a touch of the exotic, as in Capuns with Bündnerfleisch (air-dried beef) or red deer entrecôte. Dinner at the blue hour is especially atmospheric; during the day, the self-service “Scatla” offers an easy alternative.
Only reachable by lift, train or on foot – the car stays at the starting point. Reservations: recommended, esp. evenings; online or by phone.
