Alp-Schaukäserei Morteratsch

Alpine hut · Cheese

17 min by car

At the Alp-Schaukäserei Morteratsch, a show dairy run by the Pontresina dairy, you can watch the master cheesemaker produce Heutaler cheese, Gletscher-Mutschli and whey cheese over an open fire – watching is free. The alpine snack bar serves cheese and meat platters, cakes and, from Tuesday to Sunday, a hearty alpine brunch, for which you register by 5 pm the day before. A playground and a rabbit enclosure make it popular with families. From Pontresina the alp is a good hour’s walk along a flat path suitable for pushchairs.
