When the whole group travels

A milestone birthday, a family reunion across generations, a weekend with friends: the Engadine is a rewarding destination for larger groups. The region offers enough activities for different interests, and Bever is central and quiet enough to accommodate a larger party without it becoming hectic.

Why the Engadine works for groups

The beauty of a group trip to the Engadine is its variety. While some hike or bike, others enjoy the lakes, a wellness day or a stroll through St. Moritz. In the evening everyone meets again for a shared meal. This mix of shared and individual moments makes the valley ideal for groups with different needs and age groups – from grandchild to grandparents, everyone finds their programme.

Accommodation for many

For larger groups it pays to book several holiday apartments in the same house or neighbouring units. That way each family or couple has their own retreat, and you still stay together. A kitchen makes shared meals easier, and enough space ensures no one is left out. If one apartment can be combined with a neighbouring one, there is room for a whole extended family in no time. Coordinating arrival

By train everyone travels in a relaxed way and meets at Bever station, a few minutes’ walk from Chesa Michel; by car a carpool is worthwhile. The house has seven parking spaces (four in the underground garage, two in front of the house, one in an external garage), which can be booked during online check-in for CHF 10 per car and night. For excursions in the region, bus and train are a comfortable alternative to a convoy.

Tips for organisation

Plan one or two shared highlights – for example an easy hike that everyone can manage, a shared dinner or an outing with the mountain railway – and leave the rest of the day free. That way the gathering stays relaxed and everyone gets their money’s worth. A little coordination on shopping and cooking beforehand saves stress on site.

Booking early pays off

Book early; especially in high season, larger allocations are quickly taken. The sooner the planning is in place, the more likely you are to secure neighbouring apartments for the whole group – and the more relaxed the anticipation becomes.

Shared time in the Engadine

A gathering of family or friends thrives on shared moments – and on room to retreat. At Chesa Michel, several apartments in the same house can be booked, so everyone stays under one roof and yet each party has its own space. By day, hikes, railway excursions on the Bernina Express or an afternoon at Lake Staz beckon; in the evening you meet in one of the parlours to cook and play. For larger parties, the Nair and Grisch studios can be combined via a shared entrance door with the Roseg and Morteratsch apartments respectively, creating units for up to six people each.
