A paradise on two wheels
The Upper Engadine has become one of the most exciting biking regions in the Alps. Flowing trails, a broad network of forest and valley paths and bike-friendly mountain railways make the valley equally attractive for mountain bikers, leisure cyclists and e-bikers. Bever lies centrally on the well-developed network of paths – ideal for starting a different tour every day.

Four rides from Bever
- Inn cycle path (route 65): along the Inn from Maloja to Zernez and right through Bever – 55 km, about 4 hours, hardly any climbing (167 m up, 505 m down). For families and e-bikes; you can join anywhere, and the RhB brings you and your bike back. Route & map

For families and leisure riders
The flat valley floor is ideal for relaxed tours. The path along the Inn from Bever towards La Punt, Zuoz and S-chanf runs almost level through meadows and forests, with places to stop in the villages. The loop around the Upper Engadine lakes between Maloja, Sils, Silvaplana and St. Moritz is family-friendly and scenically magnificent too. E-bikes smooth out the climbs effortlessly and make longer routes manageable for everyone.
For sporty riders
Those looking for trails will find them in the Upper Engadine. Single trails around Muottas Muragl, Corviglia and the Suvretta slope demand technique and fitness. Popular are descents served by mountain railways, so the climb falls away and the fun of riding takes centre stage. The combination of a railway ascent and a flowing descent makes for varied days.

Alpine classics
Experienced bikers take on longer tours into the Val Bever, towards passes or over alpine crossings. The combination of climbing metres, lonely valleys and wide views is unique in the Engadine. Such tours require good fitness, tour planning and alpine experience – in return they reward with great solitude and panorama.
E-bike: rediscovering the valley
E-bikes have truly opened up the Engadine for many. Ridges once reserved for the well-trained are now within reach, and shared tours with different fitness levels work effortlessly. Rental stations, charging points and guided tours make getting started easy.
Practical matters
Bike rental and service stations can be found in the larger villages. A helmet, weather protection and enough to drink are essential, and at altitude the weather changes quickly. Watch for shared-use paths and be considerate of hikers. At Chesa Michel the bikes are kept safely in the ski and bike room on the ground floor, and wet clothes dry in the laundry room with tumble dryer. Cycling holidays in Bever
