Chestnut festival in the Bregaglia

Every autumn the Bregaglia celebrates the sweet chestnut in one of Europe's largest chestnut groves near Castasegna: the 22nd Festival della Castagna 2026 from 26 September to 18 October, with the Tavolata on 4 October and the Festa della Castagna on 11 October, plus markets and guided tours. Tours through the Brentan chestnut forest run on Wednesdays until 28 October.
